Helen Svetlana Williams
My involvement with art began at an early age . I have my mother to thank for nurturing this interest, and with her encouragement, at 13 years of age I enrolled at Lipetsk Art School in central Russia. One year later I was proud to have my work selected to represent the school at the exhibition in Moscow. After later graduating in decorative design from Lipetsk Art College I moved to St. Petersburg and started work at the Naval Museum on Vasilyevsky Island, using my skills  to create imaginative display and complimentary art work.

For the past 14 years I have been a resident of Wales, taking inspiration from the beautiful surrounding countryside to build up a collection of unique landscape and portrait paintings. I have had the opportunity to exhibit these paintings at several venues in South Wales, including one at the Grand Theatre in Swansea 2006. These have led to several commissions, including one from a local businessman to produce illustrations destined to cover a range of Welsh place mats and tableware. Another commission allowed me to create illustrations of a Welsh book publisher ‘Grandma’s Stories’. Although not always a primary source of income, having a continuous flow  of art commissions through Internet based art sites, or by word or mouth, has kept me interested and active in a vocation I hold dear to my heart.
