Pauline Furnival
I was born in Manchester and recently returned home to England, having spending many years living abroad. I moved to Market Drayton in July of this year 2014
We left England in 1987 to live in Portugal where the wild flowers were wonderful and gave me inspiration for my water colours. I had many exhibitions throughout the Algarve during my 15 year stay there.
We then moved to Brazil, which was totally different. It was there that I took inspiration from the wonderful marbles and granites and started to paint abstract works using fluid acrylic techniques. I often incorporate two styles and paint a fluid acrylic background and then when it is dry I paint on flowers. I held a large solo exhibition in Joao Pessoa Brazil
Now back in England I still paint almost every day and have recently started to coat my paintings with a high gloss epoxy resin finish, which, though difficult to apply, brings the colours to life and provides an easy care finish.
Since arriving back home in England , I have exhibited in the Buy Art Fair, Spinning fields in Manchester. The Bear Steps with the Shropshire Art Society, and at the moment ,I am having a solo exhibition at Festival Drayton Centre until the 28th of this month.I will be in the “Café” at The Gateway in January and September.
I am a member of The Shropshire Art Society, The Art International group and The Visual Art Network.
